We’ve all been there:  The rush of adrenaline and panic when we learn a student was injured during a field trip or district-sponsored excursion.  A flood of questions and activities follow. The list of possible issues is as endless as the list of potential outcomes.

To control these risks and panic-inducing situations, districts spend thousands of hours and countless resources annually developing and updating policies, procedures, and expectations, with no visibility into whether or not they are being followed.  While well intending, these policies often add to an ever-increasing teacher workload, creating bureaucratic inefficiencies, and additional administrative costs.

We will discuss lessons learned from these experiences and review policies, processes, and enforcement tactics that may alleviate these tricky situations.  Attendees will learn industry standards, be active participants in problem solving solutions for their policy and compliance pain points, and leave with actionable items for implementation within their district.
