During times of crisis, it is imperative that districts are prepared to respond to questions and concerns while sending a message of safety and support. Most often districts do not have adequate time to develop and prepare the responses brought on by the barrage of press and media requests. When incidents of childhood sexual assault occur, the impact can be felt by students, staff and community and requires an astute level of sensitivity and authenticity. This presentation will provide tips, templates, and strategies to support district preparedness and response when a crisis occurs. Strategies specifically related to incidents of staff misconduct or other childhood sexual assault incidents will also be covered.
